Hi All,
Does anyone know if we are connected to the main sewer yet? Tried to find out from Southern Water when we need to start paying again but gave up after speaking to 3rd call centre person who clearly did not have a clue. We've not received any notification or bill yet from them.
Didnt want to set anything up without confirmation this time round.
Thanks.

Hi - I called them today and they are looking into it as they expected me to give them the date of connection, even though it was themselves that contracted Clancy Dowcra to do the moleing and ground work. They said they'd get back to me and if I get an answer, I'll place it here....unless that is anyone else knows differently. Bruce

The Southern Water saga continues. I have received a letter from SW advising that they still don't know when the Avenue was connected or whether we are in fact connected to the public sewers. The chap stated that he was escalating this to his "concern team" to find out when we were connected. The last time i called them, i had to scam and email to them, a opy of the letter we all got regarding the works that Clancy Docwra were undertaking in partnershp with SW. I'm losing the will to live at the moment having to deal with a bunch on incompetents. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing...but I've got an idea! I've looked through various bits and pieces via the SRA and other working papers I have too hand but cannot locate any firm date that we were connected. Does anyone know the date of connection and if so has anyone yet been billed for anything. I know that some got refunds. Thanks in advance......

Southern Water called me last week to say that we were connected to the public sewerage system and that they were due to get meter reads from South East Water so as to let them get their billings started. One step closer!

We still haven't had a bill. I do hope they are not going to suddenly whack us with a hefty bill starting from March/April... Anyone else heard from them? Thanks

Yup...we are connected as per my earlier post. People should contact SW to sort out their accounts and tell them that you don't want a large bill. They are getting readings from SEW for opening bals. Ensure that you note date of call as I don't trust them.

He he. Am really confused now. Received a mail from SW this morning to inform me they have suspended my account until further notice and will inform us when we have been connected to the main sewer. I can't be asked to argue anymore and am just going to keep their correspondence. Maybe, just maybe, this will all be sorted by next year. You just can't make this stuff up?! What a joke.

I don't blame you......just waiting for our letter confirming monthly DD. Maybe they have lost us in their system. I don't want however to be stung with a large bill way down the line so I made sure that I told them this when I last spoke to them. Back burner job!

Finally got a response from Southern Water,
Am told they will send out bills shortly and as a godwill gesture they will only resume billing from June. So make sure you dont pay for anything else. i am told once they receive water consumption from SE Water they will generate a runoff bill. Looks like a resolution is in sight!

Received official notification today stating that we are all connected and that SW will be charging our fees from now. We've set up our Direct Debit and billing is half yearly.
